WSC delivered the Phase I fossil simulator for the Mississippi Power Company, Plant Daniel, Unit 2. Phase I included the main power plant models, instructor station, and virtual DCS integration. Phase II, which is ongoing, includes addition of the Flue Gas Desulfurization (FGD) System, Waste Water System and the FGD Electrical Distribution System Expansion. The simulator was declared ready for training in December 2013. The plant is a 500 MWe steam electric generating unit, of coal-fired forced circulation subcritical drum-type design. The simulation includes all necessary process models and integration with an Emerson Ovation Virtual DCS.
